FinReel (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the FinReel platform, which converts YouTube finance videos into concise email digests. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information. By using FinReel, you agree to the practices described below.

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your email address. We use magic-link authentication — no password is ever stored. We may also store your name if you provide it.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with FinReel, including the YouTube channels you track, email digest delivery status, and general usage patterns. This helps us improve the service.

Payment Information

Payments for FinReel Pro are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account tier.

• To authenticate you and manage your account.
• To deliver daily email digests for your tracked YouTube channels.
• To process and record payments via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, account notices).
• To monitor service health and improve features.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

FinReel uses session cookies to keep you signed in after you authenticate with a magic link. These cookies are essential for the service to function and are deleted when your session expires or you sign out. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

We use a lightweight analytics beacon to count page visits (no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting). This helps us understand how many people use FinReel.

YouTube / Google

FinReel fetches publicly available video metadata and transcripts from YouTube to generate summaries. Your interaction with YouTube is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Twitter / X

FinReel formats summaries as Twitter-style threads for readability. We do not post to Twitter/X on your behalf, and your account is not connected to Twitter/X unless you explicitly integrate it in a future feature.

Stripe

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Your payment data is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

OpenAI

Video transcripts are processed by OpenAI to generate summaries. Transcripts may be sent to OpenAI's API. We do not send your personal account data to OpenAI.

We retain your account data and summaries for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed session tokens, and strict access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of FinReel after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
